Small Works Topic #1

For the project where we only had to pick 3 items to use to make the project I chose: fabric, acrylic paint, and masking tape. I had a struggle with this project because I wasn't very familiar with these items. Since I had 2 pieces of fabric stuck together I decided to use the larger fabric to make a pouch and the other to make a vase with flowers. I used the masking tape to sew the pouch together and make a clip to keep it together. I'm not very experienced in painting so I decided to keep the designs simple by outlining some of the lines that were already on the fabric and painting some of the masking tape. For the extra fabric I had a painted a vase on the fabric and I used old photos of roses I took and taped them on with the masking tape so that it would look like roses in a vase. I struggled with painting the vase because the fabric that I was painting on wasn't smooth at all. I was inspired by a clutch purse I own and a single rose my mother used as apart of her outfit for an event she attended.
