Wolfsonian Visit Response

The Wolfsonian was created to to show technological advances and how it shaped our world through art and design. For me, it showed that very well. For example, it showed it through some of my favorite pieces Kubus and Aristocrat. They’re both something we use every day, glass containers and pitchers. It was cool to me how something we use everyday is art. Another way that this was interpreted was through propaganda. Ideals were projected through ceramics and plates. 

This changed the way I thought of these objects because artists took everyday objects to spread ideas which was a very smart way of using these objects. In the reverse, everyday objects that we still use to this day were created by designers. These objects were innovative and made things easier for the everyday household. my overall impression of the collection was that art can be used in many ways and can get many ideas across. Also that art isn’t just a painting or drawing or photo but can be everyday things we use such as a pitcher, clock, container, vacuum etc.
