In-Depth Zine
The zine that I created were pictures of nature and the outdoors. With that in mind, I wanted to create a narrative of camping/hiking. I wanted to push the narrative with my 3 sculptures by making things that you might need or bring for being in the woods. I made an emergency flare, a compass, and a pillow that doubled as a holder for the zines. Then, I made a bag for the zines and the sculptures. I also wanted the material that are used for heavy snow or rain jackets to drive the narrative as well. I ran into a few craft issues when sewing the pillow and bag together. I had to trim a lot of excess string forming around the edges of the pillow and bag. I also had a hard time finding sturdy thread but I ended up finding the right kind. Overall, this project was my favorite one to do this semester. I was very engaged with this one and was impressed with the outcome of it.
